The Maine Beer and Wine Distributors (MBWD) is a group of Maine family-owned distributors. MBWD member companies are an integral link in the state-regulated alcohol distribution system. Distributors provide transportation, refrigerated storage, and maintenance for perishable malt beverages and wine from the time they leave the supplier until they arrive at the local retailer.

Maine Beer and Wine Distributors partner with Olympian Julia Clukey to promote responsibility.

The new “Julia Inspires” campaign, will build on her success during the past 5 years reaching out to more than 12,000 students at more than 40 schools. Julia Inspires………Healthy decisions and positive attitudes, ability to focus on goals and achieve them, Maine students to make good decisions, strength, and confidence.

Maine Beer and Wine Distributors provide beverage container redemption opportunities.

Redemption Opportunities

For the purpose of collecting commingled returnable containers and reducing the number of sorts for redemption centers, the major Maine beer and wine distributors have collectively formed the Maine Beer and Wine Commingling Group, LLC. Beginning in July 2004, this company has allowed approved redemption centers to commingle certain returnable containers distributed by its members.
