Olympian Julia Clukey Announces Plans for
New Summer Camp
In January, Olympian JuliaClukey announced a partnership with theKennebec Valley YMCA to host a new 10 day summercamp in Maine starting in June 2012. Julia Clukey's Camp for Girls at Camp KV will take place from June 20 - June 30, 2012 on Maranacook Lake in Readfield. The camp is designed for girls ages 8-11 as a place to develop self-confidence and a healthy lifestyle.

As part of the announcement, camp scholarships were awarded to Manchester Elementary, Readfield Elementary, Mt. Vernon Elementary, and Wayne Elementary. The total of eight scholarships represent the support from eight members of the Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association as part of their ongoing responsibility initiative with Olympian Julia Clukey.
Since 2010, Julia has been a spokesperson for the Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association and has recorded public service announcements, appeared on numerous television and radio shows, and spoken to almost 5,000 high school aged students about the importance of good decision-making and responsibility.

The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers

Carol (left) and Gene Lozito (right) were recognized by The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers as the agency's Volunteers of the Year.
On January 19, Gene Lozito, Marketing Manager at Pine State Beverage Co., and his wife Carol were honored by The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers as the agency's Volunteers of the Year. Most recently, the couple has worked with two of the agency's alternative education students. Since their involvement as mentors, the students have become more focused at school and have a desire to live with hope for the future.
Gene has played a large role in strengthening the relationship between Pine State Beverage Co. and The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers by growing the agency's Wine Tasting event into one of the agency's most popular fundraisers.
National Distributors Presents Gaziano Awards to Top High School Linemen

On January 29, Jeff Kane, president of National Distributors and Frank Gaziano's son-in-law, announced the winners of the FrankGaziano High School Scholarships and Awards at a banquet at the Augusta Civic Center. Scarborough's Logan Mars and Thornton Academy's Luke Libby were named the top high school football offensive and defensive linemen in the state because of their hard work on the field, in the classroom and in their communities.
The winners received a trophy and a scholarship of $2,500. All eight finalists were presented with a commemorative jacket to honor Frank Gaziano.
