Winter in Maine can be fun and festive with outdoor recreation; skiing, skating, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing. We encourage to get outdoors and be active, but also to be safe.

As 2012 begins, we also want to share a special video from Olympian Julia Clukey who is excited to return to Maine this spring to continue speaking at local high schools.

Plan ahead, be prepared, and be responsible.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Timberlake
Executive Vice President
Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association

In December, National Distributors Inc., based in South Portland, presented a check for over $700 to the South Portland Food Cupboard in South Portland, Maine. The money was raised through National Distributors' new CHANGES wellness program designed to increase employee fitness and health at the family-owned beverage distributor.

The CHANGES program has helped National Distributors' employees to lose a combined 360 pounds over an eight week period. As a way to celebrate the accomplishments of their employees and give back to the community, National Distributors donated a check of $722.40 ($2 per pound), to the South Portland Food Cupboard.

The check was presented at the South Portland Food Cupboard by Jeff Kane, president of National Distributors, to Sybil Riemensnider, director of the South Portland Food Cupboard. The presentation included Distributors' employee Ken Greenleaf, who lost the most weight using the program and Judy Anderson, the Transformation Specialist of the CHANGES program.
