Friends,

Cheryl Timberlake, Executive V.P., MBWDAFall is upon us. Maine is a beautiful place in the autumn months; great foliage, football, apple picking and agricultural fairs. While the Red Sox season ended sooner that many Mainers would have liked, we have been lucky that Mother Nature has provided some excellent fall weather.

As we turn our calendars to October, we think of the Columbus Day holiday and homecoming events at local schools. There is also a TV documentary that we hope you will take notice of: Maine Public Broadcasting will air the Ken Burns film, "Prohibition" this week, including an episode tonight at 8 p.m. This is a historical piece that highlights the social and political aspects of the 18th Amendment, the story of how alcohol regulation came to be.

With the focus on alcohol, we continue to remind everyone Olympian Julia Clukey is available to attend school functions and present a responsibility message to our youth. Let's all stay focused on making good decisions and not "veer of course", a direct quote from Julia.

Please enjoy our newsletter and have fun with family and friends and be safe.

Delivering Quality and Choice. Advocating Responsibility.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Timberlake
Executive Vice President
Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association

Nappi Distributors' Golf Tournament Raises $16,000
for Local Hospital

Nick Nappi, VP of operations at Nappi Distributors and his sons Geo Nappi, Sava Nappi and family friend Matt Hall, all Nappi Distributors employees. Nappi Distributors, a proud member of the Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association (MBWDA), recently hosted their 12th Annual Stefano Nappi golf tournament.

The event helped raise $16,000 for The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center, in memory of Nick's late son Stefano who spent many months at the hospital before he passed away.

Over the past 11 years, the enthusiastic and warm hearted supporters of the Stefano Nappi Memorial Golf Tournament have raised over $135,000 for The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. Money raised through this event is used to provide hospital patients, their families and nursing staff with many special services and support that otherwise would not be available to them.
